PVFC is a not for profit organization providing Fire and EMS Assist services to the community of Petersburg, WV and surrounding areas. Our members consist of ALL volunteers with training ranging from Firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs, Divers, Water Rescue Personnel, Engineer/Pump Operators, and numerous other fire classes. We were established in 1938.

Suppression
We are trained to extinguish structure, brush, wildland, and vehicle fires.

Accidents
Our members are trained from basic extrication to advanced extrication including farm rescue
Swiftwater

We currently have 8 members trained in swiftwater rescue

Rescue operations using Boat 400 as well as a flat bottom boat and kayaks
Divers
PVFC has 3 specially trained members to dive in different scenarios to include rescue operations
Rope Rescue
Technicians
We currently have 3 certified Rope Rescue Technicians within the department
